2017 Flag Football Mandatory Evaluations – Wednesday, August 23rd

Flag Football Evaluations Start Wednesday August 23rd

(9 to 16 Years Old. That age on September 15, 2017)

Greetings Flag Football Fans!

We are excited to be kicking off another season of 78th Precinct Flag Football this fall.

As in years past, in an effort to balance the teams, we evaluate all of the NFC (9-10 year old division), AFC (11-12 year old division), NFL (13-14 year old division) and XFL (15-16 year old division) players before the start of the season and build teams through a draft.

Our first player evaluation this season will be held Wednesday, August 23rd, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Prospect Park Long Meadow (baseball fields) between fields 1 and 2 (see map). Please note if you arrive after 7:00pm, we may not be able to evaluate your child.

With almost 400 players this season we want to evaluate as many as possible in August so please attend if you can. Players enrolled in the football fundamentals sessions (ages 7 & 8) need not be evaluated, but are welcomed to try it. The remaining evaluation dates will be Tuesday, August 29, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Van Voorhees Park and Tuesday, September 5. Information regarding our September 5 evaluation will be shared once finalized later in August.

The season will begin September 16 and run through the weekend before Thanksgiving in November. No games will be played Friday, September 29 – Saturday, September 30. Moreover, we will schedule games during Columbus Day Weekend (October 6 – October 8) and Veterans Day Weekend (November 10 – November 12).

All games will be played on the weekends on artificial turf fields – at Van Voorhees field, Washington Park and Pier 5 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Until schedules are created we cannot say which divisions will play where.

* Mouth guards and pocketless pants/shorts are required for all Flag Football programs.

See you on the field!
