The 78th Precinct Youth Council’s Basketball Academy program is hosting a week-long basketball skills clinic over the Presidents’ Week public school break.
Open to players ages 9 to 12 (player’s age on 12/31/17), the clinic is run by certified coaches and collegiate athletes.
Participants are placed in a supportive, but competitive, atmosphere and taught basketball fundamentals through a variety of basic and advanced drills, half-court play, and refereed scrimmages. Each day involves different learning experiences.
Our program is a great place for boys and girls to improve their fundamental skills and enhance their love for the game of basketball. It is also a fun and friendly environment to start and foster quality friendships.
The clinic will be held February 19 through February 23 at MS 51 (350 5th Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Early drop off (8 a.m.) and late pick up (4 p.m.) options are available.
Children should bring a bagged lunch and snack. Players should bring a water bottle which can be refilled as water will be available to the athletes to keep them cool, hydrated and performing at their best.
A welcome email will be sent to registrants during the week before the clinic begins.
